Those who stumble upon great opportunities usually have a great network of industry professionals. A great way to expand one’s network is, well… by networking, of course. Fashion Industry Mixer event provides a great opportunity to meet the right people.

On Jul 5th we’ve held our second fashion networking event at a nice spot in Wicker Park called the Red Canary. It is a unique venue seeking to capture a 1920’s Victorian-style feel featuring a grand crystal chandelier, ornate gold details, bold red walls, plush damask booths and incredible wood finishes.

Fashion Industry Mixer is a niche networking event where guests can pitch ideas for creative projects, find business opportunities and meet like minded fashion professionals.

Who is this event for? Anyone in the fashion industry. Anyone who is looking to increase their exposure and get new contacts. Makeup artists who are looking for talent to collaborate on photoshoots or fashion shows. Fashion bloggers looking to find out about the new talent. Fashion designers looking to announce their new line.

Color coded tags are given to attendees to help them navigate through the crowd and find the right people to connect with. Each specialty in the fashion industry has its own color.

Although, it was only our 2nd event held so far, the word about a new fashion networking series had spread fast. We had a nice turn around of industry people eager to network. Many brought their portfolios either printed or on iPads or phones along with the business cards. Which was a remarkable idea and a good tip to future guests – nothing speaks better of your work then pictures.

If the past two events have shown us anything, it’s that there is clear need for a networking platform in the fashion industry. And we can’t wait who will we meet at the next Fashion Industry Mixer in August.
