As the Fashion Focus is wrapping up and one might think that after viewing more then dozen of designers’ collection presentation that week they’ve seen everything there is to see. They would be wrong. They have not yet seen Anna Fong’s Spring 2013 collection.
Fashion Focus is a week-long celebration of Chicago’s thriving fashion industry showcasing some of its top and emerging designers with featured runway shows in Millennium Park and fashion events at various locations around the city.
On October 21, 2012 at the stylish and elegant Radisson Blue Aqua Hotel fashion designer Anna Fong gave an exclusive preview of her Spring 2013 collection.
Anna Fong has been a rising star in the fashion industry. Borrowing from her unique heritage of Guatemalan-Chinese, Anna brings fresh creativity to the world of fashion that displaying elegance and sophistication in her designs.
Anna’s style is influenced by art, photographs, films and vintage wardrobes.
“As a designer I’ve been growing but I always keep those elements that I know inspire me. It all brews in my head and then all of the sudden I spit it out into a collection that really says this is so me.” said Fong.
The Spring 2013 collection named “Queen of Hearts”, the collection draws the inspiration from the Victorian ages paying homage to original representation of beloved royals.
“The inspiration for this collection was the opulence and elegance from the Victorian times and Victorian queens.” shares Anna, “The laces and the beautiful garments that they used to have custom made. It really inspired me. But also how they carried themselves and the resilience and the confidence of the queen.”
Fong wants her customers to feel comfortable in her clothes while looking stunning. She shops around a lot for quality fabrics. She uses knits and linens which are combined with organzas, silks and laces. “I pick fabrics that I can see myself wearing and being comfortable in.” said the designer.
Coming out to the runway the models were looking elegant in Anna Fong’s designs. Anna blends timeless and classic design elements with modern fashion. This mix results in clean designs that convey the spirit of each collection.
For the second year in the row Anna Fong’s fashion show had closed the Fashion Focus week in Chicago with elegance and style.
