Masks, corsets and avant-garde hairstyles dominated Via Del Corso, The Masquerade Affair, an event that showcased fashion, provided fun entertainment and encouraged its guests to dress up to be seen.
Fashion Focus Chicago is a week when Chicagoans celebrate fashion of their city. Variety of events are being held each day at different locations providing exposure for local fashion designers.
At the close of the Fashion Focus week, on Oct 20, 2012 M.GO Fashion CO had hosted Via Del Corso which was by far their most exquisite event yet. Held at FIAT of Chicago, this evening of masquerade and fashion was quite a success.
M.GO Fashion, salon and boutique owned by sisters Michelle and Melissa Gomez, is the go to spot for fashion, beauty and style. Dedicated to fashion, the sisters have been actively involved in the industry and have hosted a series of successful events in the past from fashion shows to fashion street festivals.
M.GO Fashion had partnered with Steven Papageorge Academy to create a truly unique experience for anyone attending Via Del Corso.
Steven Papageorge Hair Academy has been providing cosmetology education for over 10 years. Keeping the classes small they pride themselves in providing individual attention to their students. The education at the Academy includes classroom style lectures, demonstrations, and most importantly-hands on training.
For two weeks prior to the show the students have been preparing the synthetic hair, ironing it and braiding it, which then was used to create avant-grade hairstyles for the models. Steven’s wife was the one who came up with the idea “Rather then making regular updos, let’s make it fun, do the art hair.” The result was amazing.
At the event guests enjoyed premium entertainment with live performers, open bar and an exquisite runway presentation featuring three collections.
Romantika Lingerie, a luxury intimates boutique in the northern Chicago suburb of Wheeling, showed their Intimate Luxury Collection of undergarments, hosiery and corsets. Romantika aims to create a comfortable, elegant and sophisticated boutique atmosphere proving their clients with a different experience and personal service.
Narcisse by Veronika Kotlajic is a line of handcrafted pieces where each one is an artistic expression. Veronika specializes in the avant-garde style fantasy inspired attire. The latest collection took the inspiration from the seductive dangerous femme fatale.
The final presentation was Smart Chic Collection, Michelle Gomez’ own designs. The line featuring fun and playful spring summer dresses was a great closing to the fashion show.
