Agga B

Agga B. Raya is polish born fashion designer and a young entrepreneur who moved to United States in 2002. She originally established her professional career in NY City, only to relocate it to Chicago in 2005, where she lives and works up till now. It is the vigorously growing cultural environment of the city that helps Agga implement her artistic visions of fusing fashion and art into one creative entity.

A designer in residence at the Macy’s Fashion Incubator, the artist in residence at Creative Lounge Chicago inspired by Toyota, a supporter and art curator of young artists, or the stylist for various fashion publications; are just few of Agga’s roles that label her as the unique creator.

Agga comes from the family of fashion designers, who for over 30 years have been manufacturing labels such as Max Mara, Burberry, French Connection and many others. While being exposed to the secrets of the fashion industry in an early age, Agga developed a practical knowledge of the business, furthermore, shaped her passion for design and eagerness to craft her own unique style. The elements of her design and concepts have a strong correlation with the world of fine arts, architecture, and industrial design; as those stay the main inspirations for the young designer. But by no means, the strongest of all, lays in simple observance of the street life and its dynamics.

With the distinctive eye for detail and extraordinary talent for fabric manipulation, Agga constructs classic and elegant silhouettes that bear resemblance to the graceful style of the women in the early 20th Century. At the same time choosing unconventional fabrics and techniques of finishing her pieces, she brings her clothing line to the newer level, that she herself calls ‘fashion forward design”. Asymmetrical forms combined with soft accessories, unfinished edges hang loosely on the fabric, or competing textures interlacing together, are few of Agga’s signature special effects that add distinctive modern twist and push the boundaries of classical look.

Her goal as a fashion designer is to help women express their identity as strong, confident and feminine. Her recipe: use of luxurious fabrics with easy-to-wear designs makes ‘looking’ effortlessly elegant, and fashionably easy.
