As we have wrapped up the fifth Fashion Industry Mixer we’re excited to share some of the impressions about the event. Once again, a wide variety of fashion industry people were in attendance to network and make connections with others who are fashion minded.

Fashion Industry Mixer is an event for fashion designers, photographers, stylists, makeup artists, models and fashion bloggers. Anyone who is looking to network, increase their exposure and get new contacts. This niche event is held at various venues in Chicago providing a platform for industry professionals to build their network.

Held on October 4, 2011 at Frontier, the event is a fifth one in the series. Walking up the back stairs of the Frontier dining room the guests were taken to a private space on the second floor, which for the evening was transformed to a fashion hub.

Frontier is a warm, multi-level space replete with a 40-foot bar, private party room, open-air kitchen and beer garden. The West Town tavern features state-of-the-art ice taps with 16 seasonal and traditional beers, over 20 varieties of canned and bottled beers, specialty cocktails and wine pairings.

In an atmosphere fused with fashion many connections have been made and ground work set for development of future relationships. Of course, the most memorable part of the event was the showcased designer, Crystal Simms of Crystal B. Designs, who was more then prepared to show the product of many months of labor. Presenting the latest collection, Shapes and Drapes, three models, Emily Rogers, Roberta Chorzauskie and Mayra Sujey, were wearing stunning dresses.

Crystal B. Designs is a modern avant-garde brand that focuses on fusing architectural form with the female silhouette to positively enhance the features of the female figure. It caters to today’s young and trendy, professional woman.

Those that arrived early got a chance to get a glimpse of behind the scenes of the editorial video shoot with models wearing pieces by Crystal B. Designs. We decided to get creative and incorporate some of Crystal’s avant-garde flare in the video by having the models pose as mannequins that come to live.

Next Fashion Industry Mixer feat Shavonne Dorsey will be held on Nov 10 at 120 Ultra Lounge.
